Prospective Parents
Why Choose a Christian Education?
Children are one of the greatest blessings God allows us here on this earth. Thinking about how
much we love our children creates perspective and reminds us again what a gracious God we
have. Our children are our top priority and God's Word must be the top priority in our children's
lives. The world often tempts us to waste much time and energy reaching for "treasures" that
have no real value. Parents must make choices and set priorities for their children. By choosing
New Hope Lutheran Academy, parents choose to make Jesus the top priority in their children's
lives.
Matthew 16:26 -- "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his
soul?"
Too often Christian education is regarded as an alternative for parents to shelter or protect
children from something dangerous in society or in the public school system. Nothing could be
further from the truth. Christian education is entirely about exposure. At New Hope Lutheran
Academy your child will have continual and constant exposure to God's saving Word. Through
daily Bible study, devotions, prayer and memory work children are exposed to the love of God
displayed in Jesus.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 -- "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along
the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
Jesus came to win back all people for all eternity. Each child has a heavenly home waiting for
him or her because of Jesus. It is of no cost to them. All God's children have to do is believe and
trust in their Savior Jesus. Christian education pleases God because it seats children at the feet of
Jesus each day where they will grow in their faith as the Holy Spirit directs.
Mark 10:14 -- "When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, 'Let the little children
come to me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.'"
It has been said that the goal of parents is to work themselves out of a job. The same can be said
for teachers and schools. At some point children become adults and students graduate. A solid
Christian foundation is essential for this life transition. A Christian education strengthens and
reinforces the foundation being laid in Christian homes. New Hope Lutheran Academy strongly
believes that family and school, parents and teachers work together to build a foundation on
Christ.
Proverbs 22:6 -- "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from
it."
A Christian education provides true wisdom. Students are guided to see that important questions
like: "Who am I?" and "What is my purpose?" are not answered with worldly sources or inner
reflection. The answers to these questions are found in one place, the Bible. Students are taught
that real purpose comes from serving God and sharing the love of Jesus with others.
Psalm 111:10 -- "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."
