Philosophy of Education
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..."

Our philosophy of education is guided by the inspired truths of God as found in the Bible. God's Word is used to shed light on all knowledge in the secular field of study. Through this divine guidance the students are led to live productive and fulfilling lives on earth with their thoughts and minds fixed on the ultimate goals of eternal peace and joy in heaven. Scripture is looked upon as the only source of truth. The truths of the Bible and their applications are the fundamental premises of our philosophy of education.

Quality Education

The Wisconsin Lutheran School (WELS) system offers a quality education. All teachers share the same basic philosophy of education. Within the WELS we have autonomy. We can offer change with ease. All educators have the same common belief of what is important: the truths of God and His Word. Ours is a ministry of joy. Educators are called to faith and called to serve. WELS congregations have operated schools for over 150 years. Today over 28,000 children receive a Christ-centered education in 359 WELS schools in 27 states and two foreign countries.

A Note from the Principal:

Education isn’t just about the time spent in school; it’s about the preparation for everything your child can become in the future. At New Hope Lutheran Academy we are dedicated to help your son or daughter reach his or her greatest potential. We work closely with parents to connect each child to that future by setting the right academic foundation and using God’s Word to build a personal relationship with his or her Savior, Jesus Christ.

At the Academy we are focused on educating the whole child. That means that we focus on every aspect of a child’s development including the Spiritual, Emotional, Cognitive, Physical, and Social. Our curriculum uses biblical truths to form the foundation of learning. Our teachers view relationships as the foundation of learning. Our school works closely with parents to understand the individual gifts and challenges of each child. Our students are part of a safe environment where they can learn and contribute.

Meet Our Lower Grade Teacher, Miss Amanda Nitz

The youngest of four children, Miss Nitz grew up in the small town of Slades Corners, WI. Her family comes from a long line of Lutheran pastors and teachers. She attended Lutheran elementary and high school, and graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies in May of 2009. She was assigned by the Wisconsin Synod to New Hope Lutheran Academy May, 2010.

Miss Nitz has a sincere love for children and for teaching, and prays that the Lord will use her to be a blessing to her students as she helps them to grow in all aspects of their lives. She is confident that her students will be a blessing to her as well.

For fun, Miss Nitz enjoys traveling (has a friend in the Dominican Republic), spending time outdoors, and reading.
